The Plague is headed to our town, and we need to figure out how to try and prevent it from coming. Today, the students got some information on the plague from a citizen in a city already infected by the disease. This week they will start to research and brainstorm a plan of action. Tonight's Homework 9/24For homework the students need to finish the brainstorming sheet they started in class. It is page 43 in their student packet. They need to brainstorm 10 questions they have about the situation. I have attached a copy of the sheet.
Problem Based Unit-The PlagueWe will continue work this week on our problem based unit over the plague. Students have been creating a Medieval town and will soon be trying to find a way to prevent the plague from reaching their town. The students received a packet on Friday and should have completed the "How are We Vulnerable?" sheet for homework over the weekend. Because of EXPLORE testing, I will not see the students until Wednesday, so it will need to be completed before class that day. This Week's HomeworkToday students received another article of the week. It will be due next Monday, September 29th. The students will get an article every other week and will have the entire week to complete the assignment. These will help the students practice their summarizing and analysis skills with nonfiction texts.
